Ignacio Castro is Managing Director of the Founder Institute in Boston and Head of Lending Technology at Santander Bank. The Founder Institute is a global network of startups and mentors that helps entrepreneurs launch great technology companies around the globe.

He received his MBA from the MIT Sloan in 2011, and shortly after through his work as the founder of Startup Costa Rica got involved with the Founder Institute launching in 2013 the chapter in CR. He now serves as the Managing Director for the Boston chapter which was re-launched in 2016.

In Santander Bank, he is responsible for all aspects of the retail lending technology platforms for the US market (includes consumer and home loans), and lead the execution of a $15-$20M budget for operational expense and multi-million transformation initiatives.

During his career, he has also worked for global organizations like Chiquita Brands, PanAmerican Health Organization, Intel Corporation, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, World Vision International and NTT Data.
