Global Chief Information Security Officer
Lena Smart is Global Chief Information Security Officer at MongoDB. Ms. Smart joined MongoDB in March, 2019 and is responsible for security, governance, risk and compliance there.
She has more than 25 years of experience in technology infrastructure, security operations and cyber security roles in the energy, technology and financial services sectors.
Previously, Ms. Smart was CIO/Chief Security Officer of the New York Power Authority, the United States’ largest state public power organization, and was responsible for management of large scale critical projects, assurance and management of the NYPA’s facilities and cyber programs. Prior to that, she worked at a private banking firm in London.
Ms. Smart holds certifications in CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, and CCISO, and is also a member of FBI Infragard and the Information Technology Information Sharing and Analysis Center (IT-ISAC) and the IT-SCC. She is also an avid cellist for her local Community Symphony Orchestra, and often plays in Chamber Music ensembles.
